Job Responsibilities

Under general direction, develops and implements speech pathology treatment programs for the treatment of communication and swallowing disorders for pediatric through geriatric patients. Planning treatment programs based on individual patient needs identified by thorough evaluation. Instructs patients, families and caregivers in communication skills and safe swallowing techniques. Collaborates with an interdisciplinary treatment team. Ensures all actions taken in carrying out responsibilities support patient centered care.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of a speech-language pathology program; successful completion of required internship training; successful completion of requirements for Certification of Clinical Competency as defined by The American Speech and Hearing Association.

• Possession of license as a Speech Language Pathologist issued by the Iowa Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology.
