  Core competencies include, but are not limited to the following:

• Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.

• Reads telemetry test strips and places them in the patient charts at required intervals.
• Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
• Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
• Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor.

Minimum Education High school diploma or equivalent or higher level of education: □ Preferred X Required Two years of college: X Preferred □ Required Required Skills/Certifications: The below certifications will be required within 60 days of hire: X Basic Life Support (BLS)
