Brief Position Overview
This position is a joint appointment between the Mark & Robyn Jones College of Nursing and Montana AHEC / Office of Rural Health and reports to the Associate Dean of Research. The Post-Award Program Lead manages all post-award support for a shared portfolio of program grants.

General Statement
Make history and join our college by transforming nursing education and healthcare of Montana through the generous philanthropic investment of $101 million from Mark and Robyn Jones (https://www.montana.edu/news/21406) , the founders of Goosehead Insurance. By 2030, we strive be on the top of nursing education through constructing five new campus buildings (one on each campus), the creation of five endowed professorships, student scholarships, producing more qualified nurses, and starting Montana’s first Certified Nurse Midwifery program. We are looking for a change leader to help manage this process for our graduate programs.
The Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing ( MRJCON ) offers a baccalaureate in nursing, accelerated Baccalaureate in Nursing, Master of Nursing focused on clinical leadership, and Doctor of Nursing Practice with focus in either family nurse practitioner or psych-mental health nurse practitioner. The College has five campus locations across the state, located in Billings, Bozeman, Great Falls, Kalispell, and Missoula. The Montana AHEC mission is to improve the supply and distribution of healthcare professionals, with an emphasis on primary care, through community/academic educational partnerships, in order to increase the access to quality healthcare.
Duties and Responsibilities
Post Award Management / Reporting
Annual Performance Reporting
Non-Competing Continuation
HRSA Handbook
Post-Award Agency reporting
Report narratives
Tracking all Program Grants for MRJCON + specific AHEC portfolio of shared program grants
Prior approvals for changes in scope & budget
Manage emergent needs related to program portfolio
Financial Management
Stipend disbursement
Assistance with travel reimbursement
Financial reporting
Budget & Monthly reconciliation for program portfolio
Review financial transactions for compliance to budget / grant initiatives
Review fiscal information with program PI, senior personnel, or program staff
Payroll reconciliation and salary spreadsheet maintenance for MRJCON indexes and select AHEC indexes
Contract / Sub Award Management
Manage contracts related to grants
Generate and manage sub-awards for programs
Liaison & Coordination
Assist program PI, senior personnel, or program staff with University procurement process
Liaison with Fiscal Shared Services on program portfolio for all funds within the Nursing Org
Liaison with OSP to usher requests, processes, etc. on behalf of PI, senior personnel, or program staff
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Demonstrated experience with project management, including data collection/management and compliance oversight.
Demonstrated experience working independently, exercising sound judgment, and making consistent decisions with minimal supervision, with progressively responsible experience including interpreting policies and procedures.
Demonstrated experience managing multiple simultaneous projects, working efficiently under pressure, and managing conflicting priorities.
Demonstrated competence using personal computers and software, including word processing, spreadsheets, database / relational information systems, and email. Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, health care or public health management, or other closely related field.
Knowledge of applicable College and University policies and procedures.
Experience utilizing knowledge specialized to research, grant management, budgets, procurement, and contract management.

Ability to organize and prioritize workload, solve problems, and work under pressure while maintaining a high level of detail and deadlines.
Ability to effectively use excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Possess the ability to understand, implement, and utilize applicable College, University, OSP , Foundation, and grant policies and procedures.
