Aerotek Pipelayers And Pipelayer Helpers in Burnaby, British Columbia

We are currently hiring Pipelayers and Pipelayer Helpers for sites across the Lower Mainland paying $30/hr - $40/hr

Job Description:

This person will be cutting and beveling pipes for installation

Connecting pipes and sealing joints

Installing sewer/storm pipe systems underground

Working around underground utilities

Aligning pipes according to blueprints

Checking slopes for grade

Grade and level trenches using some machinery such as rollers, dig trenches

This person will receive direction from the foreman or site superintendent each morning and will work on a team of 2 - 15 people

They will work alongside equipment operators and skilled labourers on civil construction sites

Responsible for pressure testing, geotechnical testing, and air testing

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience as a civil pipelayer or pipelayer helper

  • Experience working on local civil projects

  • Experience with drainage, utilities, and warer main

  • Experience cutting, beveling, and installing pipes

  • Experience with machine operated trenching tools

  • Able to set up laser equipment

  • Experience operating Heavy Equipment a bonus (telehandler, loader, skid steer, excavator, etc)

  • Safety tickets are bonus (confined space, deep excavation, etc)

Work Environment:

  • Civil construction sites

  • Projects located in Burnaby and Vancouver. Future projects will be across the lower mainland

  • Potential for out of town projects as well (approx. 30% of yearly work)

  • Sites are located across the Lower Mainland. Must be open to going to different sites.

  • Crew sizes of 2-15 (Pipelayers, Equipment Operators, Labourers)

Shift:

  • Start time is 7:00am for most sites

  • Monday - Friday, some sites offer Saturdays

  • Typically working 9-10 hour days

  • OT after 8 daily and 40 weekly

Payrate:

Pipelayers - $34/hr - $40/hr

Pipelayer Helpers - $30/hr - $33/hr
