Program Summary

KBR maintains and manages Army prepositioned stocks at the Army Field Support Battalion - Charleston (AFSBn-CHS) land site and aboard ship to include all logistics and maintenance operations. The KBR APS-3 Program is managed and executed at Goose Creek in support of the Army’s power projection doctrine and resources. The contract provides maintenance of APS-3 stocks (Class II, IIIP, IV, VII, IX) to ensure that unit sets stored aboard marine vessels are configured and maintained at optimal readiness. KBR provides limited maintenance and supply support aboard ship to ensure that equipment sets are maintained in a ready condition for emergency download and issue to operating units at the direction of the US Army. KBR also provides maintenance services and logistical support for other Army programs IAW individual scope of work contract requirements.

Job Summary

Creates incident reports and performs inspections to ensure conformity in all areas of HSE. Interacts with services personnel, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to research and interpret standards, codes and regulations. Determines requisite for and organizes audits of company operated properties. Keeps informed of regulatory requirements and auditing standards. Assists in development and implementation of systems and standards to facilitate the capturing and analysis of HSE statistics. Under direct supervision, performs routine assignments. Develops core competencies with existing procedures by solving standard problems. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Performs general administrative tasks in support of HSE Safety Staff to ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State and Local regulations and instructions to include local command policies and procedures.

  • Participates on the site Safety Committee and prepares minutes, coordinates department staff safety training.

  • Performs a variety of health and safety related support activities.

  • Assists in developing reports from data and trend analysis.

  • Assists in the review and revision of safety and health standard operating procedures (SOP).

  • Serves as primary coordinator for TSTI-2 training program.

  • Other duties that may be assigned to meet company and departmental goals and objectives.

In addition to secretarial duties (filing, taking phone calls, scheduling training, and appointments), this position will provide administrative support to the department staff with office management responsibilities to include personnel records and timekeeping. The Administrative Assistant may be required to work independently on projects requiring research and preparation of briefing charts and other presentation materials. This role reports directly to the HSE Manager.

Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable Common Access Card (CAC) issuance.

  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have at least 2 years of related experience

  • Must have knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910

  • Must possess valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License

  • Must be able to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.

  • Must be able to meet government-specified requirements.

    Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand - between 2 to 3 hours per day.

  • Must be able to walk - between 4 to 5 hours per day.

  • Must be able to Lift - up to 35 lbs. – 50 lbs. periodically.

  • Must be able to squat, knell, bend, reach and climb periodically.

  • Must be able to work outside and inside in non-climate-controlled environments.

Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

  • 2-year degree preferred

  • Skilled in various Microsoft Office programs, basic skills in Excel and Outlook

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate fluently and influence safety behaviors.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Our workforce is paid hourly based on a guaranteed 40-hour work week; the daily schedule is from 6:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday-Thursday (work hours are determined by the hiring manager).

  • For hourly employees, the premium overtime is paid at time and a half.

  • The APS-3 daily schedule is a 4-day workweek with the potential for overtime during high-demand missions.

  • The APS-3 standard workweek schedule is from 6:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday-Thursday with possible overtime of up to 8 hours (as the mission demands).

  • The APS-3 workforce receives 11 Federal Holidays per year in addition to earned paid time off.
