OhioMeansJobs|Cleveland-Cuyahoga County is sourcing for a Non Certified Sterile Processing Technician for a Health Care Provider in the Greater Cleveland Area.

Non-Certified Technicians working in our award-winning Sterile Processing Department directly impact patient care and safety. You'll provide safe, efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment. As part of your responsibilities, you will:

• Monitor and control supplies and equipment. • Observe personal protective equipment standards in the decontamination process. • Properly handle equipment, instrumentation and chemicals. • Scan, sort, inspect and assemble instruments by instrument list; wrap and label as documented in procedure. • Support department initiatives to meet productivity standards and flexible staffing needs.

Sterile Processing Department Technicians receive ongoing support and training from supervisors who work closely with you and are involved in the day-to-day operations. Responsibilities:

  • Supports department initiatives to meet productivity standard and flexible staffing needs.
  • Demonstrates understanding on proper handling of equipment, instrumentation, chemicals, performs preventative maintenance, observes personal protective equipment standards in decontamination process.
  • Scans, sorts, inspects and assembles instruments by instrument list, wraps and labels as documented in procedure.
  • Monitors and controls the issue of supplies and equipment.
  • Performs record keeping.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • HS diploma or equivalent GED required.

Certifications:

  • If hired after 1/1/2018 Sterile Processing Distribution certification(CRST) by IAHCSMM or CBSPD  required within 2 years following completing  new hire period.

Complexity of Work:

  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Work Experience:

One  year health care experience or similar background in mechanical/manufacturing assembly preferred.
