Speech Language Pathologist - ECMH Requisition ID 2024-48827 Category Allied Health Overview The Speech Language Pathologist screens and/or evaluates speech, language, oral motor skills, swallowing, and cognition, scores and interprets tests, plans and provides therapeutic intervention, provides patient and family education, and communicates with outside agencies and referral sources. Provides age-appropriate care and services to patients from the age of birth to 21 years, and select adult patients. This is an outpatient role. With 1 in 7 children 0-5 years of age experiencing behavioral health challenges that often interfere with school participation and overall development, Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH) programs are critical in facilitating best care and best outcomes for our patients and families. Through our innovative and intentional ECMH programs, Nationwide Children's Hospitals aims to ensure that families in Central Ohio have access to a full continuum of services and supports necessary to promote healthy development, prevent mental health problems, and treat mental health disorders in young children so that they can thrive in their homes and communities. The following position is specific to Clinical Therapies Behavioral Health services at Nationwide Children's Hospital. This position includes the following programs as the primary service areas: The ECMH Therapeutic Interagency Preschool (TIP) Program - a classroom-style day treatment program for young children with behavioral health concerns that put them at risk for disruptions in early learning success The ECMH Outpatient Clinic - a multidisciplinary clinic that provides a variety of outpatient-level services to young children focusing equally on enhancing both global development and positive mental health through family-centered care This position will operate within the programs listed above on our Downtown Campus.
