Job Description:

The University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning’s mission is to improve the quality of teaching, learning, and childcare. We research, develop, and scale equitable educational innovations for adults and children that put all learners on trajectories for lifelong success. Specifically, the Center targets kindergarten readiness, 3rd grade reading proficiency, and algebra proficiency as critical milestones in children's educational trajectory that are predictive of success in school and life. The Center works at the nexus of research, practice, and policy to develop sustainable systems that leverage educational technologies and improve the implementation of research-based practices. Strategic Planning and Operations:

  • This position directs the activities related to the Tutoring project for the Lastinger Center's daily operations. It is responsible for coordinating multiple administrative functions, enrollment management, communications, public relations, and budget.

  • Participates in the strategic planning for the Tutoring project and assists the Director in developing and implementing the overall strategic plan.

  • Establishes performance goals and measures to evaluate the success of the Tutoring Program.

  • Participates in formulating and implementing policies and procedures related to the Tutoring Program.

Supervision:

  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of the Tutoring Program, including the supervision of Center associates and external vendors. Provides guidance and direction to staff involved in related services and programs.

  • Implement and maintain high standards of quality control. These responsibilities include recruiting, performing employee reviews, overseeing team interactions, and focusing promotion effort among the Tutoring Program team on maintaining the highest quality.

  • Ensuring the morale of staff remains high and personnel remain motivated to achieve goals and objectives of the Center is of great importance.

  • Responsible for ensuring that all programs, activities, and series comply with university, state, and federal regulations.

Executive Leadership:

  • This position leads the Tutoring Program team and serves as a member of the Center’s Executive Leadership team.

Allowing employees to stagger arrival and departure times as necessary and to vary the number of workdays in the office so long as an employee’s FTE commitment is fulfilled within the university workweek. This policy also allows for occasional, incidental remote work based on individual circumstances.

Expected Salary:

Commensurate

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.
