Req Number MED-24-00003 Open Date 2/9/2024 Description Come and be a part of a dynamic team that includes nurses who provide infusion services to patients with various neurologic conditions. This position is integral to patient care in our infusion center, as the primary role is to perform both administrative and financial functions in support of the patient infusion process. Responsibilities include: Scheduling patient appointments and conducting pre-visit financial activities prior to treatment. This includes processing referrals from providers; assisting patients with insurance and start-up forms for infusion; assisting patients with registration for co-pay assistance and other benefits programs; coordinating with MCN's prior authorization team to ensure PA has been completed in advance of the patient's infusion. Checking in patient on day of infusion and scheduling follow up appointments as needed. Performing administrative and financial functions in support of infusion to ensure smooth operations for patients and nurses. Serves as point of contact for drug suppliers; tracks drug inventory with members of MCN's Accounting Department and orders supplies. Works with Patient Financial Services to help resolve billing issues. Position Requirements We seek candidates with the following qualifications: Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent plus a medical or business administrative degree. Bachelor's degree is desirable. At least two years of previous medical office experience, preferably in the areas of revenue cycle or financial counseling; previous experience with infusion services highly desired. OR, experience as Pharmacy Technician helpful. Strong understanding of health insurance and its impact on billing. Knowledge of the prior authorization process. Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10/CPT coding. Must be patient-centered and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to be organized, work independently, exhibit mature judgment and make sound decisions. Accurate and precise reading and writing skills; strong command of the English language; good spelling and grammar; ability to be detail-oriented and accurate. Proficiency with electronic health record and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
