Description

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a Scan Technician who will use advanced scanning equipment to capture detailed images and measurements of components and products. These scans are essential for quality control, product development, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate scanning equipment, such as 3D scanners and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), to capture accurate images and measurements of components and products

  • Follow established procedures and protocols for scanning, ensuring consistency and reliability in data collection

  • Conduct thorough inspections of scanned components to identify defects, imperfections, or deviations from specifications

  • Analyze scan data using specialized software to generate detailed reports, including dimensional measurements, surface analyses, and other relevant metrics

  • Collaborate with engineering, quality control, and production teams to interpret scan results and address any issues or concerns identified during the scanning process

  • Maintain scanning equipment in optimal condition, performing routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting as needed

  • Document scan procedures, parameters, and results in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements

  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance scanning processes, efficiency, and accuracy

  • Provide training and support to other team members on scanning techniques, equipment operation, and data analysis

  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, including proper handling and storage of scanning equipment and materials

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience operating scanning equipment, such as 3D scanners or CMMs, in a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • Strong technical aptitude and proficiency in using scanning software and analysis tools

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and analyze subtle differences in scan data

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to scanning equipment and software

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information and collaborate with cross-functional teams

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of quality control principles and practices preferred

  • Familiarity with CAD software and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) concepts is a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
