Robert Half Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant in Lawrenceville, New Jersey

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable (AP) Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the full cycle of accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. This role requires strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing: Review, verify, and process invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and proper authorization.

  • Vendor Management: Maintain and update vendor files, resolve vendor discrepancies and issues, and manage vendor communications.

  • Payment Execution: Prepare and execute electronic transfers, checks, and ACH payments.

  • Reconciliation: Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.

  • Expense Reports: Review and process employee expense reports in compliance with company policies.

  • Month-End Closing: Assist in month-end closing activities, including AP aging analysis and accruals.

  • Reporting: Prepare and maintain various reports related to accounts payable, including monthly and quarterly reports.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and AP processes.

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Team Player: Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
