Qualifications:

Required:

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing

  • Successful completion of all Orientation Programs

  • Must float into Labor & Delivery, FCC/Nursery, and Antepartum

  • At least 2 years experience in L&D

  • At least 1- 2 years experience in Postpartum/Nursery

Preferred:

  • Bachelor s degree preferred

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Current Registered Nurse License in the state of New Jersey

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (must seek and maintain)

  • ACLS Certification

  • NRP Certification

  • IV Certificate and pass test upon hire

Scheduling Requirements:

  • On Call

  • Night shift

  • 2 12.5 hour shifts per month, both shifts on weekend

  • 1 12.5 hour Summer Holiday (Easter, July 4th, Labor Day,)

  • 1 12.5 hour Winter Holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year s)

Essential Functions:

Organize and administers individualized age specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care. Supports philosophy, objectives and the mission and vision of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and the Department of Nursing. Practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health Regulations, JCAHO requirements and other regulatory agencies. Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in Unit Performance Improvement evaluation activities.
