The per diem PEDS Speech-Language Pathologist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California will evaluate and treats pediatric patients in accordance with the prescription of the physician. Provides patient care consistent with Scope of Practice Standards and Code of Ethics; the Plan for the Provision of Care to Patients, the Plan for Corporate Compliance, the Performance Improvement Plan and Patient Education Plan. Assists in the continuous quality improvement process and in the education and training of students and assists in divisional growth and cohesiveness to ensure a high quality of therapy care. Provides care while maintaining safety of the environment, utilizing appropriate communication with sensitivity and attention to special populations, including patients with diverse cultural backgrounds, age, developmental issues and physical disabilities.

The Therapist-Per Diem is considered employed on an at-will basis with no guarantee of scheduled hours. Scheduling is done based on staffing need and availability. The Therapist-Per Diem staff member is expected to be available a minimum of 16 hours per month.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  • Master's Degree Graduate of an accredited Speech Language Pathology program.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Speech Language Pathologist License California State license

  • Basic Life Support CPR card

What else are we looking for?

  • Pediatric augmentative communication experience required.

  • Experience with genetic disorders is preferred.

  • Engaging in or supporting novel outpatient programming for language and communication in the pediatric population

Physical Demands:

Lifting, standing, walking.
