The Senior Engineer has responsibilities for system design and sustaining engineering activities for customized hardware products in Cytiva upstream single use technologies portfolio.

This position is under the Upstream and Fluid Management organization and part of the custom upstream systems team located in Marlborough, MA and will be a hybrid role. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Evaluate customized product requirements specifications, conduct risk assessment, address implementation complexity and engineering verification activities for all customer and internal projects.

• Represent Cytiva in technical discussions with customers during a project and resolve technical questions with customers, suppliers, or internal personnel.

• Lead customer complaint investigations, complete root cause analysis and implement risk management methodologies. Conduct lessons learned and best practices sessions.

• Define and establish design space for customized products and components; schematics, specifications, assembly drawings and associated Bill-of-Materials, manufacturing documents, including initial assembly instructions and inspection criteria.

• Develop training materials and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineering associates.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• BSc / MSc in Automation, Electrical, Mechanical or Process / Chemical engineering.

• Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience working on projects delivering technically complex (mechanical, electrical, software) process equipment.

• Demonstrated broad experience with HW/SW/Systems design and technical depth in one or more engineering disciplines (Electrical, Automation, Mechanical, etc.).

• Experience in developing requirements flow down, architecture/system design and analysis, risk analysis, integration and test, manufacturing, field and customer support including corrective and preventative actions to ensure customer satisfaction.

• Understanding of industrial panel design with electromechanical components such as PLC controllers, pumps, motors, sensors, and temperature control systems.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Working knowledge of pharmaceutical/biotech processes, equipment hardware, and single use technology.

• Technical understanding of automation control systems used in the biopharma (Delta V, PLC, PlantPAx etc.).

• Experience with ISO (9001/13485), GMP, and regulatory standards and requirements such as UL/CE/IEC/ASME BPE.
