Duties Include: Assist patients/residents in the performance of activities of daily living, including bathing, toileting, and providing patients/residents with nutritional support. Perform basic restorative care including ambulation, and assisting with transfers. Appropriately use assistive devices for patient/resident transfer and ambulation. Obtain vital signs and specimen collections in accordance with established guidelines. Recognize and report changes in patient/resident condition, vital signs, input/output measures, and weights. Recognize, report, and address any safety hazards, errors, falls, injuries, equipment failure, or concerns with staff/patient behavior. Provide continuous protective observation in accordance with hospital guidelines. Understand basic body mechanics to ensure safe movement, transport, and positioning of patients/residents. Adhere to infection control policies and guidelines. Use universal precautions when performing patient/resident care. Activate emergency response system, and perform BLS measures until appropriate assistance arrives. Appropriately document/record observations and actions in the patient\'s/resident\'s medical record and/or on unit worksheets. Respond to patient/resident call lights or requests for patient/resident assistance in a timely manner. Consistently address patient/resident, family, and staff with courtesy and respect.
