Position Summary :

At the direction of the vice president of marketing and communications, the special projects and donor relations coordinator is responsible for project management, donor relations and event planning, among other duties. The special projects and donor relations coordinator plans, coordinates and implements special projects and events and manages annual giving initiatives and other philanthropy programs. The coordinator assists with other community outreach as directed, with the understanding duties may extend beyond daytime business hours. Specific responsibilities include:

• Plans and executes special projects, events and initiatives.

• Manages an annual giving campaign and documents the annual gift program plan.

• Develops and facilitates ongoing donor recognition programs.

• Regularly inputs required data in CRM software and generates reports to support decision-making. Works with the finance department to maintain accurate records and assure reporting accuracy.

• Determines level of Tidelands Health involvement with individual events and serves as initial contact person for third-party events.

• Assures proper recognition of donors and maintains effective relationships with current and past donors. Generates gift acknowledgment letters in a timely manner.

• Completes other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education : Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a related field required.

Experience : Minimum three years’ experience working in a marketing, philanthropy, communications or related function.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities :

  • Demonstrated experience in event planning and project management is required.

  • Proven donor relations skills required.

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to successfully manage a robust workload in a fast-paced environment while providing exceptional customer service

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

  • Strong organizational skills required.

  • Database management skills required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; frequently to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 15 to 20 pounds of force occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or 5 to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 5 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
