Covenant Health CT SUPERVISOR in Nashua, New Hampshire

Summary

Under the direction of a Medical Director, Radiologists and Director of Cardiovascular and Diagnostic Services, performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation or other forms of energy. Supervises technologists assigned within the CT area and conducts performance appraisals on assigned personnel. Performs a variety of other functions with a general responsibility for technical quality and safety in the CT area. Supervises work progress within the CT area and uses independent judgment, initiative, and supervisory skills to perform the job. Maintains accountability for monthly/annual CT financial statements, and actively participates in cost saving initiatives. Pursues continuing education to keep skills and knowledge current.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry. • Assumes responsibility for designated areas and assures all administrative and quality activities are conducted as expected, in a professional manner. • Maintains CT ACR accreditation, DNV preparedness, preventative maintenance, and annual physicist inspection. • Regular and continuous authority to supervise the activities of two or more technologists, including the responsibility for recommending personnel actions, i.e.: hiring, disciplining, dismissal, performance appraisal, stay interview, training, etc. • Budget and charge reconciliation duties including, but not limited to, budget preparation, purchasing and inventory, service contracts, daily revenue/quality reconciliation, and medical necessity compliance. • Ensures all department operations, functions and activities are managed daily including DTAR reconciling. • Scheduling of the technologists with consideration to the budgeted FTE, 24-hour coverage of the department, vacation time and overtime usage. • Ensures annual competency of staff is maintained by CT staff and instructs the CT Scan technologists in quality imaging techniques, overall patient management, in order that they possess the necessary skills to perform quality exams. • Other duties as consistent with this role.

Job Requirements • Assumes responsibility for designated area and assure all supervisor and quality activities are conducted as expected, in a professional manner. • Maintains confidentiality according to HIPAA. • Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. • Interacts positively with members of the team. • Respects patient’s culture, lifestyle, religion, and age. • Accepts constructive criticism and channels emotional reactions in a positive manner.

Education and Experience • Current ARRT certification, advanced ARRT registry in CT required. • NH Imaging License required. • BLS Certification required. • At least 5 years of clinical experience preferred. • Completion of a certificate or degree course of study in Radiologic Technology preferred. • Quality control/assurance experiences a plus. 2-3 years supervisory experience preferred.

An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. Some stress related to high level of responsibility for quality care.
