Matheny is a special hospital for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities. Our fully-accredited non-profit private school combines traditional academics with therapeutic intervention and pre-vocational skill development. Our Adult Services Program includes five licensed community residences/group homes and two adult learning centers. Matheny's Arts Access program empowers individuals with disabilities to create art without boundaries. Matheny Medical and Educational Center has a career opportunity available for aFull Time Finance Clerk.This position is Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm.

Duties of this position include:

  • Manages all clerical function within the department including but not limited to:

  • Collects and sorts all mail including those received both physically and electronically.

  • Assists with the accounts payable process including converting paper invoices to electronic format, routing invoices for payment in accounts payable.

  • Manages the cash receipts including collecting, summarizing, depositing, and recording the deposits within the financial software for the department.

  • Key or type up various documents and reports for the department.

  • Assist and supports supervisory and executive staff by performing assigned finance or clerical work.

  • Maintains filing system for the department Assists with collection of patient accounts receivable balances including but not limited to:

  • Performs initial and follow up calls with insurance companies and documentation of the calls and outcomes.

  • Performs other collections tasks as assigned Performs other related job duties and special projects, as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Basic experience with clerical and/or data entry work.

  • Must act responsibly and ethically when working with sensitive and confidential financial information.

  • Ability to enter data effectively.

  • Must possess mathematical skills, an attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • The ability to comply with local, state and federal financial regulations as well as regulations of the Organization.

  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint a must.

  • Technology savvy with a willingness to learn and proficient in new software programs.

  • Must possess strong verbal communication and organizational skills and reporting skills.
