Position Descriptions:

The inpatient Cardiac Surgery service provides care for patients undergoing cardiac procedures, including coronary artery bypass, valve replacement and complex aortic procedures. In addition, we manage patients pre-operatively and perform consultations for surgery. This is an onsite position located at PPMC in Philadelphia.

PPMC has an outstanding track record of medical accomplishments including creating one of the first coronary care units in the US, and we continue to provide leading-edge care as part of Penn Medicine. Cardiac Surgery is high growth and high visibility service at PPMC.

As an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) with Cardiac Surgery, you are viewed as a leader, teacher and care provider with a career ladder for future growth potential in leadership. APPs are a key part of the care team, performing daily assessments and managing the care of complex patients. You will lead daily rounds and work in conjunction with Nursing, Case Management and Social Work to ensure a smooth transition from the hospital to home or rehabilitation. In close partnership and collaboration with the surgical physician group, the APPs provide world class care to some of the most acutely ill patients in the country who are undergoing coronary revascularization and other complex surgeries.

Requirements:

  • ACLS (For providers in the acute care setting) required.

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)S/CPR, as a healthcare provider as per the American Heart Association required.

  • Pennsylvania PA-C or CRNP licensure required

  • PA and/or NJ Prescriptive Authority required.

  • Master or Doctors of Nursing Practice required or Masters degree in Physcian Assistant studies required

  • The identified Advanced Practice professional hire must be reviewed by the Credentials Committee and approved by the Medical Board.
