University of Rochester Electrophysiology - Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in Rochester, New York

Responsibilities

The Electrophysiology Advanced Practice Provider (EP APP) provides patient care in the outpatient setting as part of the Electrophysiology Service/Cardiology Unit for the Department of Medicine at Strong Memorial Hospital. The role of the EP APP includes but is not limited to managing cardiology patients scheduled for procedures in the EP Lab (i.e.: EP testing, radiofrequency ablations, tilt table testing, implantation of permanent pacemakers and cardioverter defibrillators), follow-up of patients with various arrhythmias in attending physician clinics, and independent APP arrhythmia and device clinics. The EP APP plays a crucial role in real time analysis of remote pacemaker/ICD monitoring. The EP APP is responsible for obtaining H & P’s, identifying and managing immediate health care needs and risk factors. This includes documentations of plan of care, with collaborating physicians and coordination of health care with other disciplines as needed. The EP APP supports outlying clinics as needed at other institutions covered by the EP service in Hornell and Wellsville. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training. Acute care NP or PA preferred.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner

Require a Master’s degree (or pending) as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active/pending New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.

Physician Assistant

Requires completion (or pending) of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active/pending New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA ( National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)

NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relations skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $44.71- $67.07

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
