University of Rochester WCC5-Surgical Oncology - Nurse Service Professional Development Practitioner in Rochester, New York

Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity for a mastered prepared RN to develop and provide educational support for the inpatient surgical oncology unit. This RN will work to assess, design/develop, implement and evaluate programs at the unit level. This candidate will focus mainly on staff education and professional development, onboarding new nurses, competency development and teaching/in-services. This exciting role will work closely with nurse educators and other MPNs throughout the Cancer Center. The candidate must have strong clinical background in surgery, communication and organizational skills. Master’s degree required.

Qualifications

The candidate must have strong clinical background in surgery, communication and organizational skills. Master’s degree required. or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Clinical Nurse Specialist influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $41.00 - $57.40

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
