Description

As a Pathologists' Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting surgical pathology procedures. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Performing dissection, description, and histologic sampling of various surgical specimens.

• Conducting specimen photography and radiography to assist in diagnostics.

• Performing frozen sections and providing intraoperative consultations for timely diagnosis.

• Procuring tissue for tumor banking and research studies.

• Identifying, investigating, and resolving issues related to surgical pathology processes.

• Assisting in specimen accessioning and labeling to maintain accurate records.

• Providing guidance and training to residents, fellows, new employees, and Pathologists' Assistant students in surgical pathology protocols and procedures.

Note: Position is based at the Santa Monica Hospital, but incumbent will provide coverage to our lab in Westwood as needed.

Salary Range: $86,900.00 - $197,300.00/annual

Qualifications

• PA (ASCP) certified or must pass PA (ASCP) exam within 12 months of hire.

• Bachelor's degree.

• Must be able to work the occasional Saturday.

• Flexibility to work between Santa Monica and Westwood location.

• 2 or more years of relevant work experience, preferred
