*Crystal Engineering Technician: * The Crystal Engineering Technician will support all aspects of crystal manufacturing from raw materials, crystal growth, machining and testing. The position will have multi-functional responsibilities to support Crystal Growth in Production, Engineering and Research and Development. A qualified candidate must be able to work and follow instructions with little supervision and be capable of working for multiple departments within the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Engineering Responsibilities: Hunter

     - Maintain detailed knowledge and hands-on proficiency in all aspects of single crystal production: raw materials, batching, crystal growth and crystal evaluation.

     - Coordinate with crystal production and crystal R&D to plan, execute and evaluate engineering or process development tests. Use production resources if required and available, or      work together with the area engineer, to execute the tests without burdening the production system (to, or not to, involve production resources will be determined on a case-by-case basis).

     - Support standard operating procedures and documentation. When standard operating procedures need to be updated or changed to match newly identified best practices, collaborate with the area engineer who will be the responsible party for updating the process documentation.

     - Maintain accurate and timely records of engineering tests and test results. The value of development testing or analysis is directly related to the ability to accurately interpret test conditions and test results and, as a result, the accurate documentation of test conditions and results is critical.

o Production Responsibilities: Stephanie

     - Support production testing of Raw Materials: LOI and LOD

o Research and Development Responsibilities: Jun

     - Work with R&D Leader to prepare batches and run experimental crystal growth cycles in support of new material development, including work on government programs.

o Ability to perform additional tasks as required by management

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

o Education: A high school diploma is required.

o Use of calipers, micrometers, and inspection microscopes.

o Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

o Good oral and written communication skills.

o Good organizational skills

o Person should be proactive and driven to continually assist in the improvement of our quality system.

o 3 years' experience in a ceramic crystal manufacturing environment is a plus

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

o Basic English (reading, writing, verbal and comprehend)

o Ability to communicate with co-workers, supervisor, and QC personnel

o Basic to intermediate shop math

o Attention to detail

o Ability to use and read measuring tool and devices

o Able to work in a demanding fast paced environment.

o Self-motivated with the ability to practice teamwork and be safety oriented in a factory environment.

o Work with little or no supervision throughout shift.

o Attention to detail is a must for weighing and measuring powders, and following instructio s.

o Operation of production equipment (furnaces, mills, presses, etc.)

o Maintain required records, work orders, and reports

o Must have a working knowledge of MS Office Word and Excel

o Comply with all safety rules and company policies.

o Ensure any accident or injury is promptly reported.

o Always wear proper Personal Protection Equipment in work area.

o Must be able to work occasional overtime to meet operational deadlines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS /Work Environment

This job will be performed in a Manufacturing Environment.

Physical -- Must be able to manipulate parts weighing up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 10-hour shift (2:00 PM to 12:30 AM)
  • Evening Shift (Monday - Thursday)
